The 41st Annual CMSC is This Year - How Did We Get Here?
In 1984, a group of attendees, seven metrology hardware manufacturers, and 15 speakers attended a workshop at the joint convention of the American Society of Photogrammetry and the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping (ASP-ASCM). This enterprising group agreed to convene again six months later to further discuss critical issues, such as standards for target offset and shank diameter, optimum theodolite network configurations, and how to bring computers into the workforce.
As many more meetings and years passed, they shared their knowledge, ideas, successes, and fears. In the process, they significantly advanced our profession: close-range, high-tolerance, 3D metrology.
Forty one years later, the Coordinate Metrology Society Conference has set itself apart as a pillar in our industry. Boasting an unmatched array of technical presentations, an interactive exhibit hall showcasing the forefront of technology, engaging sessions with industry leaders, and myriad other offerings, this esteemed five-day event is a cornerstone of the field.
