Former CSI & Seasoned Forensic Expert, ID’s “Crime Scene Confidential”
Alina holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida where she graduated with Honors from the National Criminal Justice Honors Society and the American Criminal Justice Association. During her 21-year career in the law enforcement arena she spent 12 years as a Crime Scene Investigator, obtaining the qualification as a Certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst with the International Association for Identification (IAI).
Alina served as a CSI for the Orange County (FL) Sheriff's Office. In her crime scene career, she worked thousands of cases, including several high-profile violent crimes. Alina is trained in blood stain pattern analysis, bullet trajectory, recovery of buried bodies, documentation of skeletal remains, and is trained to investigate post blast environments including weapons of mass destruction, terrorist bombings, chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive environments. She has spent many of those years as an instructor of forensic science and technology topics. She has received recognition from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office for Investigative skills and is a published author in the Journal of Forensic Identification.

Using her scientific expertise to take a fresh look at the forensic evidence that was crucial to the prosecution, Alina speaks with central figures in the case, including law enforcement, family members and friends of the victims, suspects, or even the convicted perpetrators themselves. By re-examining these cases, Alina strives to bring more answers to those who feel the immeasurable loss of these horrific crimes. Presently, Alina resides in Florida where, At FARO Technologies, as Sr. Business Development Manager for Public Safety, she ensures customer’s voices are represented in the products and software FARO creates. She focuses on developing partnerships with institutions which allow both FARO and customers to benefit from innovation in technology.
