Abstract
The advancements in laser tracker technology have allowed portability of measurement solutions from system assembly through field installation and deployment. Accurate characterization of radar angular orientation and centering is paramount in optimizing system performance. Measurements are taken during multiple stages of system integration from initial assembly through final configuration and installation. These baseline measurements can then be repeated and compared during system lifecycle allowing consistent evaluation of radar mechanical performance. The following paper discusses the benefits of automation, designed-in reference points and custom tooling for reliable data collection and reduction. These references and data also allow six degree of freedom spatial connection to navigation systems and other critical radar equipment where precise location data can improve performance.
