1.  Please attach short biography if available

Highly ambitious and goal oriented chemical engineer with a strong background in quality control, designing chemical processes, and project management

2.  What was your journey like to get you to where you are now? Was there a particular challenge you had to overcome?

Given that metrology is heavily integrated in science, I’ve been in the metrology field since I’ve been learning science and math in grade school. It’s followed me through elementary, middle school, high school, and most prominently in college where I was working in several research and cosmetic laboratories. When I joined NASA’s Orion program, metrology was just second nature to me.

3.  What is your favorite aspect of your role in metrology?

Understanding the science and math behind the measurements.  It’s quite fascinating to see all the theoretical applications I’ve studied in school throughout my life having real life applications in my work.

4.  What is the most critical aspect of your role?

Being able to interpret the data. There’s no point in doing what we do if we can’t understand what our measurements tell us.

5.  Who was one of your mentors as you pursued your education and career?

My high school chemistry teacher, Mrs. Arnette. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have had such a strong passion for chemistry.

6.  What advice would you give to others who are considering a STEM career?

STEM Careers can be tough to pursue but are highly rewarding. My advice to those who are considering a STEM Career, is this: Stay humble, have a growth mindset, never stop learning, and most importantly, make sure your heart is in your work.

7.  When did you get your first chance to work in the Metrology field?

When I started out as a research assistant for an inorganic chemist.

8.  Describe the value that your efforts have delivered for the systems, products and processes.

Our We ensure that the work we do is honest and has integrity. Without our efforts, we lose that value.

9.  Is there anything additional you would like to add?

If you take care of your units, your units will take care of you.
