Abstract
Rigorous testing is crucial to the functionality, reliability, and the user experience of a system. However, test plans are generally made without clear pass/fail criteria and other important details, making them difficult to repeat. This lack of standardization tends to increase the time needed to write plans, conduct tests, perform analysis, and generate a final report. Metrology hardware and software tests can be easily performed by multiple users by creating standardized and self-contained tests, each with a specific goal in mind. By following test plan creation best practices, individual tests can be written to be reconfigurable and reusable across multiple metrology hardware and software platforms.
