WEATHERFORD, TX – April 16, 2024 - To celebrate the Coordinate Metrology Society’s
40th Anniversary, the CMSC is expanding its featured speakers to include 3 keynotes
that have been recognized as “Titans” of the coordinate metrology industry: John
Brown, Dr. Kam Lau, and John Palmateer. These individuals have a spent a lifetime
involved in Coordinate Metrology and greatly advanced the science we all use daily.
Each morning of the conference will include one keynote to discuss their area of
expertise, how coordinate metrology has changed since 1984, and where the industry is
going.

Presentation and Publication Opportunities Abound for Both Portable and Stationary Measurement Leaders
– The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) today announced its 2024 Call for Papers for the 40h annual Coordinate Metrology Society Conference (CMSC), July 22 - 25, 2024, in Charlotte, NC. The CMS is the eminent membership association for measurement professionals worldwide. The CMS encourages abstract submissions that explore diverse applications of 3D metrology, stationary and portable, to improve processes, productivity, and the user experience. Since 1984, industry leaders have contributed over 500 high-level technical papers and presentations to the CMSC portfolio, the most comprehensive repository of portable metrology knowledge and information. Weatherford, TX – May 27, 2020 – The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) today announced their newest training asset, 3D Measurement U or simply 3DMU, in partnership with Quality Digest. 3DMU is an online video training resource for the organization, educators, and metrology practitioners. The new resource offers a first wave of informational videos containing best practices, tricks of the trade, and other themes presented by experts in the field who are members of the CMS. Industrial measurement topics include measurement uncertainty, the Unified Spatial Metrology Network, probe compensation, distance meters, theodolites, laser trackers, laser scanners and more. This valuable field of videos will be steadily expanding in 2020 and beyond. 3DMU subscriptions are now available for purchase by individuals and organizations. Calling Users and Managers of CMMs, Industrial Scanners,
and Portable Metrology Systems to Participate in Study
Weatherford, TX – May 19, 2020 – The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) in collaboration with the PrecisionPath Consortium (PPC) today announced the official launch of their 3D Measurement Industry-at-large Survey at https://uncc.surveyshare.com/s/AYAGK6A. Participants can also select the "Take our 2020 Survey" button found on either the CMS or PPC websites to make their contribution to this important study. Users, managers, experts, or novices in the field of 3D measurement are urged to take the survey being offered until August 31, 2020. The study is conducted solely for research purposes and all answers are private. To ensure confidentiality, no identifying personal information is linked to the survey responses, although an email address is required to initiate the survey. The PrecisionPath Consortium will review the granular findings of the study and report the results in a State-of-the-Metrology Industry Report to be released in the second half of the year. All participants are invited to enter a giveaway for an Apple iPad, sponsored by New River Kinematics (NRK).
